Crossett School District will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, January 18 and 19, 2022, to onsite instruction due to the impact of Covid on our faculty and staff. The District will use AMI days and students will continue instruction each day by completing their assigned work in their Google Classroom. Teachers will be available for questions and support by email and Google Classroom. Meals for students will be available at each school on Wednesday, January 19 and may be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

1-15-22 Crossett School District's plan is for students to return to school on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, but there is a strong possibility that the district will not open on Tuesday. The District may need to extend its AMI days based on the number of staff members that will be absent, due to the impact of Covid. The District will announce through social media, no later than Monday afternoon, January 17, if school will be open or if the District will continue with another AMI day and students will complete their instruction through their Google Classroom.

1-14-22 Dear Parent, Staff and Students, Crossett School District is planning for students to return to school on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, but there is a strong possibility, due to the impact of Covid, that we will not open and will need to extend our AMI days because we will not have enough faculty present to have school. We will announce no later than the afternoon of Monday, January 17, through social media if school will be open or if we will continue with another AMI day and students will complete instruction through their Google Classroom.

Dear Parents, Staff, and Students, Effective Friday, January 14th, 2022, Crossett School District will move to off-site instruction utilizing an AMI day. Our plan is to return to class on Tuesday, January 18th following the Martin Luther King Holiday on Monday, January 17, 2022, if possible. Any additional AMI days will be announced as soon as possible. Due to the “extremely transmissible” nature of the Omicron variant, we have a high level of staff and student absences preventing the normal function of the school day and anticipate this number to continue to increase. Schoolwork for Crossett High School and Crossett Elementary school will occur through students’ Google classrooms. Schoolwork for Crossett Middle School will be through a combination of Google classroom and the Summit platform.

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases and our change to Purple status on the ACHI map, beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, January 11th, Crossett School District will require students Kindergarten through 12th grades, staff, and visitors to wear a mask while indoors when physical distancing (six feet or greater) cannot be established and maintained. This policy will be reviewed regularly to consider current COVID-19 numbers and possible modifications to the policy. A link to the ACHI website and map can be found under our COVID-19 tab on the district website.

Earlier today, the Crossett School District, Crossett Police Department, and Ashley County Sheriff’s Department were made aware of a social media post with a possible threat against CMS on Monday. This post did not mention Crossett, only CMS. There are other schools with the abbreviation of CMS in the area and state, and some are also in possession of this post and conducting their own investigation. The name given in the post is not a student at Crossett School District and is not known by school officials or local law enforcement. School officials and local law enforcement are continuing to investigate. They are working with state officials and other law enforcement agencies to find the source of the post. Additional law enforcement will be present tomorrow and as necessary in the following days.

If you paid for a box seat this year, those seats are still available to you during any home playoff games, but you will still have to purchase a ticket at the gate. Box seat passes are only good for regular season games. The same applies to any Lifetime Senior Pass holders. Thank you!
