Today the district learned of the possibility of a gun being left on school grounds. Upon investigation it was discovered that there was a rusted handgun located near the creek bed that runs through the middle of our campus. Law enforcement was immediately contacted and a current investigation is underway. At this point we are not aware that any actual threat was made to students or staff as a result of the gun being on campus. The safety of our students and staff is top priority.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up on Monday, October 21st from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. Students will not attend school on this day. Report cards will be passed out at each school. You may also see the office at each building to receive your HAC information. HAC (Home Access Center) is a way for parents/guardians to track their student's grades and attendance. Attendance is VERY important to a student's education! We encourage you to utilize this tool. If you have any questions, you may contact your child's school office or the district administration office and speak to Whitney Farmer at 870-364-3112. Thank you!

A reminder from the Crossett School District: The deadline of October 1st for receiving missing immunizations is fast approaching. Multiple letters have been sent to those requiring immunizations. Please call your physician or the Health Department to schedule immunizations if they have yet to be received. Please provide a copy of the immunization record to your child's school. Per Arkansas state law, if your child is missing immunizations, he or she will not be able to attend school after September 30th until the immunizations are received. If your child is exempt from immunizations, exemption letters must be received by October 1st as well. Thank you!

The Crossett School District would like to inform our parents and patrons about a statewide situation involving schools in Arkansas. The Little Rock FBI office issued a general awareness statement regarding an unsubstantiated report they received from a source that lives out of the country and whose identity could not be confirmed. The report indicated that a school shooting would occur in Arkansas on 8/29/19. The reporting party allegedly received the information while playing an online video game. The threat is not specific to any school in Arkansas and there are no known threats directed at Crossett School District. However, we take all safety concerns seriously and will continue to monitor the situation and work with local law enforcement to ensure students and staff are safe at all times. Again, the general awareness statement is not specific to any school district in Arkansas, including Crossett School District.
