She was honored at a reception at the Administration Office yesterday afternoon. She is pictured with her young grandson. We wish her the best in her retirement!


Congratulations to our Classified Employees of the Year for 2018-2019 for each campus, Bobby Hales- Maintenance; Georgetta Waters- Support Staff; Lynette Gonzalez- Crossett Learning Center; Mandy McElroy- Crossett Elementary School; Christy Rice- Crossett Middle School; Teresa Barnes- Crossett High School. Mandy McElroy was named the District Classified Employee of the Year for 2018-2019. They were honored at a reception and given plaques yesterday afternoon at the Administration Office.

Due to the weather forecast tomorrow, the Special Olympics have been postponed until next Tuesday, May 14th from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Yarbrough Field.

Fourteen of our 8th-grade girls represented CMS at the GLAMS (Girls Learning About Math And Science) Conference at SouthArk Community College. It was a fun day for almost 300 girls learning about careers related to Math and Science fields.





Parents, if you are having trouble accessing AMI packets, the work can be made up when we return to school.

School will be closed today, Thursday, May 9, due to the excessive rain and flooding issues. This will be considered an AMI day. Please drive safely.

This week, we celebrate teacher appreciation! We are blessed to have wonderful teachers and staff in our district who dedicate so much to our students! Thank you for all you do!


Nurse Appreciation Week is also this week. We have 4 wonderful nurses who take care of our students and others in the district when needed! We appreciate you ladies!

Crossett will be hosting the Special Olympics at Yarbrough Field on Friday, May 10th from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Please come out and support the participants! This is a big event for our community! We will have participants from Crossett, Monticello, Lakeside, Millcreek, SHABC and CB King Adult Center.

School Choice forms are due back to the Crossett Schools Administration Office, 219 Main St., by next Wednesday, May 1st!

Dear Parents and Seniors, Mrs. Harrod, the College and Career Coach, is hosting a Balloon Launch for the graduating seniors and their parents. This will be held on April 30th and will start at 1:00 p.m. at the Outdoor Amphitheater at CHS. The seniors will be grouped by what college, branch of the military, or work field they will be attending after graduation. We would love to have all parents attend if possible to show your support for your graduating senior,and each senior is allowed 2 quests.

The CES Leadership Team will be featured Wednesday morning on Q-Lite radio at 8 a.m.

CMS will have a "Happy Day" fund raiser this Friday afternoon. All proceeds will be used to help cancer patients and their families in Ashley County. A donation of $5 will allow students to go outside for an extra recess. Snacks can be purchased for $1 each. Thank you.

There will be a District Title I meeting Wednesday, April 24 at 10 a.m. at the TIPS Center to review the use of Title I funds to support our students. Parents and the community are invited to attend.
