The Arkansas Drug Take Back was developed in 2010 to help Arkansas families secure, monitor, and dispose of their unused prescription medications. Most young adults who abuse prescription drugs get those substances from friends’ and families’ homes (NCBI, 2019). Recent data shows that overdose deaths in children under the age of 12 have been increasing along with the opioid crisis. When medications are left uncovered, children risk accidentally ingesting opioids left around the house (NCBI, 2021). To safely dispose of drugs, Crossett community members may drop off old prescriptions at Gammel's Clinic Pharmacy located at 909 Unity Road on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Let’s all do our part to keep our homes and communities safe.

CHS is excited to welcome Miss Arkansas, 2022, Ebony Mitchell, to the C.T. Foster Auditorium Thursday, April 20. She will be speaking to students about the importance of staying safe online based on her platform “A Responsible Digital You”. The presentation will last 30-45 minutes and begins at 9:50 am.

CHS 9th & 10th grade students will be taking the ACT Aspire test April 18th & 19th.
We value our students and their hard work, and in order for our students to be shown that appreciation, we need the help of our wonderful community!
We are asking for donations for door prizes & snacks for our students. Door prizes can be gift cards or pysical prizes. All snacks need to be individually wrapped. All donations can be brought to the CHS front office by April 17th.
Local businesses: Last year we had a group of volunteers paint store front windows with words of wisdom and motivation… we would love to see this again this year! Please email Ms. Huffstetler at the email down below if you would like to participate.
We have such a supportive community and we can’t wait to see what we can round up for our wonderful students!

Dear parents and guardians,
As we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our students and staff, we want to remind you of our school's policy regarding food and drink in the classroom.
Please note that students are not allowed to eat or drink in the classroom. This includes snacks, beverages, and meals. Water is permitted in the classroom. Additionally, we want to clarify that students will not be called out of class to receive food or drinks from parents or guardians. We encourage you to ensure that your child brings the necessary food and drinks with them when they come to school. This will not only help maintain a healthy learning environment but also help students to stay focused and productive throughout the day.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Crossett High School
