Recently in Ms. McFarland's 7th Grade Science class, students experimented with the soft metal, Gallium, to explore the effects of thermal energy on change of state. They held the Gallium in their closed fists for 10 minutes and drew models at minutes zero, five, and ten. If their closed fist was warmer than 85.5 degrees Fahrenheit, it was warm enough to melt the cube!
