Attention Crossett School District Families. When CSD dismissed early on January 9 in anticipation of inclement weather, students missed 120 minutes of learning time. Since CSD is on a minute schedule for the current school year, those minutes of learning need to be made up. Starting on Monday, March 3 and ending on Tuesday, March 18, the CES and CMS campuses will dismiss 10 minutes later. CHS will shorten its transition times to add time to each class period (CHS dismissal will still be 3:22 pm). Thank you for your cooperation and partnership

Earlier, you were notified that a threat had been received by the school district, and as a precaution, we put all campuses on lockdown pending law enforcement action. I am pleased to report that law enforcement has swept all campus buildings and have cleared them. Accordingly, the lockdown has been lifted at this time. Meanwhile, law enforcement is taking steps with the assistance of the FBI to make every attempt possible to discover the identity of the party or parties who made the threat. We know this is upsetting and disruptive, but we also know that you want your students and our staff to be safe at school. We appreciate your patience and attention as we work through this issue with law enforcement. I would also like to thank the Crossett Police Department, FBI, and the El Dorado SWAT Team who were so helpful and responsive to us in our time of need today. Sincerely, Mr. Anthony Boykin Crossett School District Superintendent

This morning, the school district received a telephoned threat. Law enforcement has been notified and are responding, and we will update parents and the public as events unfold. At the present, as a precaution, all campuses are on lockdown which means no parents may check out students; we hope that this will be lifted soon on the advice of law enforcement. However, please understand that the circumstances surrounding this threat cause us to believe that it will be determined to be unsubstantiated. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Nothing is more important than the safety of our students and staff, and the security of our campuses.
