Parents/Guardians and Community Members,
COVID-19 UPDATE: The Crossett School District was notified today that of one of our students/staff members testing positive for COVID-19 at Crossett High School. The District’s Point of Contact has determined the Probable Close Contacts at the school (someone who was within 6 feet of the infected person for 15 minutes during the infectious period) and has notified those people and/or parents. The District’s Point of Contact has also contacted the Arkansas Department of Health to inform them of these cases as well as receiving directives for those Probable Close Contacts.
Those that were notified will need to quarantine for 14 days from the last known contact with the individual(s), while quarantining those individuals will not attend school or any school related activities. However, students in quarantine should continue working digitally in order to keep up with their education through the remote learning.
The State of Arkansas does not require schools to inform the public when students or staff members test positive for COVID-19. The Crossett School District has made the decision to report this information to the community as it changes. The District will not ever publicly release any names of those individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19. Notices will be posted only after all Probable Close Contacts have been identified and contacted. If you have not been contacted at the time of this release you have not been identified as a Probable Close Contact.
